  • Dow AgroSciences Refuge Advanced® powered by SmartStax® hybrids deliver the required insect refuge hybrid incorporated in the bag.
  • Medium plant height and medium-low ear placement.
  • Consistent ears down the row have excellent husk coverage.
  • Responds to top management — fertility, fungicide and irrigation.
  • Position early in the harvest window.

Mangement Guidelines

  • Top-end yield potential in high-yield environments.
  • Plant at medium-high to high plant densities for best results.
  • Avoid fields that have potential for severe gray leaf spot (GLS). Scout for GLS and treat with fungicide if economic threshold is reached.
  • Good performance in continuous corn, but corn/soybean rotation is preferred.
  • Well-adapted to the heat and drought stresses of the western Corn Belt.
  • Timely harvest is recommended.
  • Works well in ridge-till fields where residue management is needed.
  • 2V709 requires no separate, structured insect refuge in the Corn Belt. The refuge required is incorporated in the bag.
